Lessons are fun, anyhow. Lessons are actually a relatively inexpensive way to get track time - and they have the added bonus of not being your own car, should you not want to beat on your car or risk damaging your car.

They're fun AND they'll improve your on-road driving.

But, if you REALLY want to improve your on-road driving then it's a rally school that you go to. That will help a great deal.
