It has happened more than once...
Someone will try to appear smart when I'm out in my old 'Vette and say something about how clean and rust-free it is.
I never, ever correct them. Not in the history of once have I corrected them. I want other 'Vette drivers to experience the same joy/ignorance.
I'm pretty sure you're well aware that it's all fiberglass (as far as the body goes). I'm sure I've mentioned it more than once - and you quite likely already knew that. So many people have no clue. It's not my job to educate them. Besides, I want them to look stupid in front of other owners.
What I should do is make up a story. So, when someone says it's amazingly rust free, I can say, "Yeah, it's a California car."
Now that'd make me giggle on the inside. Possibly, I'd giggle on the outside... I'd have to keep a straight face.
