Thats cool. I guess they would only want to stop you for your own safety
They were kind enough to show me how to use it and how to use the pipe cutter. They'd give me measurements and I'd mark the pipe, double check the length, triple check the length, and then thread it. It was kinda fun - for me. It wasn't my job.
I helped all around the construction of my house. I even went around hanging my own doors and windows, just 'cause I could and I figured it saved me some time. I don't think it saved me any money, at the end of the day. But, I don't care. I had fun and even learned some stuff that I'd otherwise never experience.
They should have put your hours in the books and deducted them
LOL If anything, they should have charged me more for getting in their way and being a pain in the ass.
It was so weird... The village people used to come watch 'the mansion' being built. Sometimes they'd watch all day. It was fucking weird.
I ended up meeting a bunch of them and even put a couple of them to work long-term, meaning they got jobs with the contractors who worked on my house. There was a labor shortage when the house was built, so it just happened to work out that way. But, I'd hire anyone for a day who wanted to go around doing laborer jobs, like picking up cut ends of wood or fallen nails or whatnot.
