For the life of me, I can't sweat a pipe with liquid in it. Fortunately, I know how to cheat. Slide some paper towel up beyond the joint and the water pressure will take care of it when you turn things back on. Obviously, don't do a giant wad of paper towel, just enough to wick away the moisture.

LOL I can otherwise solder pipe joints just fine. However, I am no longer in a position to give a shit. If my plumbing messes up, I call a fucking plumber. I ain't fixing shit. I despise plumbing on a pre-existing system. I'll help someone plum their new house, but after that they're on their fucking own.
