Well depending on how long until they are running it might be a good stop gap. Do you have line of site to the tower? If you were feeling really ambitious you could setup a fail over setup with your existing DSL connections. I've done a fair bit of network setups in remote locations. The amp would probably also have enough through put to handle your phones too so it will fix your signal issue, if you want it fixed that is I can for sure think of a few arguments for having no cell service.

I'm actually pretty content not having cell service - or being able to use it as an excuse. I can't see the tower from my house, it's off to the west. There's some really distant ones that I can see with a set of really good binoculars.

I get one or two bars - most of the time. It also varies a bit based on the weather. When I do talk on it, there's a delay and echo. If I head towards the village it clears up quickly. If I go the opposite way, other than a short interval, I can be without cell service for a few hours.

I kinda like that. I'm not sure you know how remote I am. Well, I'm not that remote - but I also live in the most heavily forested state in the country. We're still wild country here.

Honestly sounds nice. Being connected all the time hasn't done good things for the world at least I don't think it has people used to go home and work wouldn't email call ect. now not so much. I may no know how remote you are but I shall find out someday.

Look between Rangeley and Eustis on Google Maps - by following Rt. 16 out of the village and to the east.

Put it this way. there's a 100' wide path cut though the forest just so that the trees don't come down on the power lines. You'll see it, if you decide to check it out.

(It's the guitar thread tonight, so I'm pretty slow responding.)
