Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, . That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask Crazy, or myself.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it. If you're interested in supporting Poal, then .

Today is the last thread we'll have before Turkey Day. So, if you want to do something special for the holiday, we'll be celebrating it next Friday (when we're all in a turkey stupor)!

We almost had something new this week, but I am to blame for the lack of progress. I had other things to do, including enjoying some beautiful snow. As such, here's a song you may have not heard in a while. It's an original shared quite a while back:

I have a giant headache, so I probably won't listen to much.

Rock on, Poalr Bears! Rock on!

Love this

Glad ya like it. It hasn't been shared in a while. It was one of those songs that took a bit of work.

[–] 1 pt

Wow wee. You hit the ground running on that one and don't stop till you stop. Top notch.

[–] 0 pt

Yeah, that one was a bit of work as memory serves. Glad ya liked it.

I could do without the headache but I'm sure I'll be fine tomorrow.

[–] 0 pt

Man, this is one of the best songs ever!

[–] 0 pt

I think that one was a riff I had in mind and then Biff and J filling in around it? I'm not 100% sure.

[–] 0 pt

I am not sure, but I know it's fucking awesome!

I did this song by the Rolling Stones called Country Honk. It's their country/acoustic version of Honk Tonk Women. I learned that rhythm riff BI (before internet). I went to the internet to learn it right. Then I said fuck it. I'll just play it the way I learnt it. What's the diff.

That's a good song. I'll definitely listen tomorrow. I've got a splitting headache which is not really improving as the night goes on.

As it is, I'm watching 'murder porn' (Investigation Discovery) with the volume down and captions on.

That is when I'm connected.

The Stones song's got a great fiddle solo and fill-in. I got a fiddle but I didn't fuck with it. Haven't played it years. I only learned one song on it. Ashokan Farewell. I can't play it because my right elbow gets heavy. Gosh darn it!

I can't really play a violin but I can fake it for a while. If you don't know much about music, you'd think I knew what I was doing.

Hello. I was jamming with my new friends this past week and here is a for you

[–] 1 pt

I listened for a little bit, but I've got one hell of a headache. It feels like a migraine, but without the sensitivity to light.

thats not good

I'll survive. I was connected and able to get the thread open, so that's a good thing.

Here is me and my friend Chris playing a Grateful Dead tune,

[–] 1 pt

Most excellent. Better than the Grateful Dead version. They got good songs but Jerry Garcia's voice is grating. Kinda like Joan Baez. Gets on my nerves. Chris sings it better.

[–] 0 pt

Interesting rendition. It's a 3 chord song (G D C) and the Dead played it so many ways that you can pretty much never get it wrong.

Just stick to those three chords - G C G C; D C D C; and you mostly get it right up to the change. Then it's just G G C C; D D C C. Finish it off by going back to G C G C and D C D C.

So long as you're somewhere around that, you're good to go.

Way back when, that was one of the songs I encouraged you to learn. I do believe you've done it before this.

Yeah we did play that one before, but not like this
