Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, . That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask theBuddha, or myself.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it. If you're interested in supporting Poal, then .

Reminder: December 23rd is going to be our Christmas edition of the Friday Night Guitar Thread. Get to working on your Christmas songs now so they are done in time!

I think that is what he said. True temperament. That seems to be a quality innovation

They're pretty unique. I have some fan fret, but not one of those. Fan fret is also a good attempt.

Every guitar is, by its nature, out of tune at some points along the fretboard. There are a variety of ways to try to fix this, including what you showed in the video thumbnail (I didn't watch it). Fan frets are another.

Another one is microtonal - but that's not only partially going to compensate and is more about getting things like quarter steps between the notes. So, instead of an F# and a G, you have a note between them.

Every now and then when I am writing some music there is a tone I am looking for that is between two notes where a microtonal neck would help me, but that does not happen often at all. And I can hear certain chords in certain places on the neck are a hair out of tune on a sting here or there when the guitar is in tune

If I need something microtonal, I can just do stuff like pre-bend up or down. I seldom need it, but my ears let me pre-bend between half steps.

That there took a whole lot of years to accomplish consistently.
