Kind of like it was the Grateful Dead up until Jerry died. No matter how many people came and went before that they were still the dead, but after that, then they were suddenly the other ones

Yeah, they were. I suppose we'll just have to accept that they own the rights and they have a whole lot of fans who are selling out their shows.

Those fans seem to think of 'em as Pantera and I guess in a legal sense they are.

The good news is nobody is gonna force us to go see 'em. I don't think I'd bother seeing them, but not because of the lineup change. I'd not bother seeing them because it's 20 years since they last did a show. It's gonna be some sappy shit with more effects than good music and probably a shell of what their live shows used to be.

That's how I'm gonna view it. All sorts of other bands do it, so I suppose they can to.

'Snot gonna make me go see them. I'm not into sappy tributes who then don't recreate the music as it once was. Ain't no way Wylde is gonna sound like Dimebag. Some might appreciate that, but that's not really my cup of tea. As you know, I'm a huge fan of faithful recreations of the original. I don't demand 100% accuracy from artists, but it should at least be similar.

I make some exceptions for blues bands and jam bands.

Was it really The Who after Moon died? They kept the name and made a dozen awesome albums after that. I don't think anyone would argue that the 'new' band wasn't The Who. Well, I'm sure a small subset of people would argue, but you get what I mean. You can find someone who will argue anything, including thinking the planet is flat. There's a whole lot of dumb son of a bitches out there.
