LoL It would be cheaper for me to fix my car than buy that Jeep
In the short term, yes. But, your Jag is just gonna keep breaking down and getting more and more expensive to repair!
(I don't really expect you to buy it. I've offered you far cheaper options that you could have jumped on.)
And, now THAT was the outage I've been expecting. They're generally about once every 18-ish hours and last for about 30 minutes.
Those bastards.
If I fix it, it should keep running for a while
It's getting to be that age where it's more likely to break down. So, that's something to really consider when you do decide to invest more money in a car.
Also, you could buy the Jeep and spend a few weekends and a grand on it. You could then sell it for $45k - ish... I'd say you can realistically expect somewhere between 38k and 43k if you want a quick sale. That's after reviewing some others and checking the condition.
The key is to use ONLY parts that can be bolted on and removed. That way the next owner has the option to return it to stock condition.
The value of the modifications is really not that much - not nearly what you pay for them - but they sell quicker.
So, in other words, you could sell it sooner for $40k because it looks good as opposed to selling it for $43k but taking a few months. You are loosing everything you invested extra - but selling it faster. People who pay more generally want stock condition. It just takes longer to find a buyer for that.
You could make a good chunk of change just by taking it off my hands so that I can have my guys do more useful stuff.
