I know a friend of Verle's son called the cops and told them he had drugs and they raided his house and found a little bit of weed but that was no big deal when all of a sudden they found an eighth ounce of mushrooms. zhe got a couple years in jail

Yeah, I believe it's possible for the feds to pick that one up as well.

Feds have mandatory minimum sentences that are then adjusted based on things like past criminal history.

They seem to be mostly short sentences or really fuckin' long sentences. They'll send you to a federal prison for 6 months instead of leaving you in a county jail. But, mushrooms is probably gonna get you something like 6 to 10 in a fed joint - if they pick it up and charge you. They usually won't charge you if the state picks it up.

That was one of the more outlandish things I've done. I drove all over the place with a small mountain of coke and a full mushroom grow op in the back - while I was quite shitfaced from drinking vodka with a dash of Pepsi in it.

In my '82 Volvo 245 - a pretty recognizable car at the time, as few are still on the road...

And we got away with it. This wasn't too long ago (considering my age). I want to say it was 2012ish. I'd lived in Maine for like half a decade at that point.
