I can out there and sit in it

Yeah, you can go out and sit in it, but that'd be about it - until you fix the thing.

Tell me you haven't torn the engine apart and left it to rust or anything.

No, the only thing I tore off was the valve cover but thats bolted back on, the plastic pieces are in the trunk but the engine is intact, as far as not being open to the elements
