Well don't go dying in a fiery wreck!
Oh, I most certainly won't - but we don't have the giant snowbanks we have some years. We don't have the snow pack (yet) for that.
Often, by this time of the winter, our snowbanks will be 20+ feet high. I call them "drunk bumpers", because they stop drunk people from getting seriously hurt in the winter. You're far less likely to be hurt if you go into a giant pile of snow - even if the snow is packed pretty hard.
Of course, if they're frozen you'll bounce off 'em.
But, they're tall enough to keep you from going too far into the woods - unless you REALLY work at it and drive pretty damned fast.
This truck is pretty light, so I could go fast enough to head into the trees.
It could happen, but it's pretty unlikely. I'm far more likely to ride a sliding situation out with feathering the appropriate pedal, ideally already in the proper gear. Steer into it and catch it, 'cause otherwise you're in a ditch and looking silly.
There's still enough winter left to get those piles up to snuff!
We're starting to pack in the snow. There's still a few months of winter left. Hell, I've seen snow in June.
I haven't seen it, but we've even had snow in July where I live. There's no month that doesn't have some snow on record in my neighborhood.
