It is a better experience when you get to meet the artist, even briefly.
I've never bought VIP backstage access but did get lucky a couple times and got to meet some folks
Then, I've worked with a bunch of musicians on a professional level. Through that experience alone, you'll meed people who are famous or will be famous in the future. Of course, your predictions of who's gonna be famous in the future are pretty much 50/50... LOL Fame hasn't always got something to do with talent. Sometimes, some of the most skilled folks don't end up famous. Fame's a fleeting thing that you either manage to catch it or it passes you by, or so it appears to me.
Its probably better not to be famous
I'd think so. I'm pretty famous in my area (and in some areas of academia/business).
Not much good seems to come from it. It's nice to be known, I guess? But, if I go into the village, someone's gonna mention it to someone else - like, "Oh, I saw David come into town today." I'm a topic of discussion more often than I'd really care to be.
