I gotta stay sober for a guitar lesson and then band rehearsal. We have a show tomorrow and booze helps me rehearse exactly none.
I'll roll one while you're at the fridge.
I actually practice stoned - 'cause chances are good that I'm gonna perform stoned! Not too stoned. If I'm too stoned, I forget the lyrics and where we are in the set list.
That's actually a thing. If you learn something drunk, you'll do it worse sober. If you're gonna play high, learn high.
Oh yes, I play stoned so I rehearse stoned. I don't play drunk - anymore.
I also don't play messed up for the current crowds. I'm now playing for nice people and not playing in dive bars. My last show had about 10,000 people at it and they were nice people. So, I'm pretty sober for these shows.
My ultimate goal is to get regional fame and then pass the band on to the other band members. Civic centers and auditoriums are what we're aiming for. We've pretty much skipped the bar scene - though we are doing a number of private functions.
