Hmm... I don't play a banjo - very well. I own two and I play at one. I've zero formal lessons in banjo playing.
You want to know about the differences between recording a banjo and a guitar? I think they're pretty similar.
Between playing a banjo and a guitar? They're also fairly similar, though they often use fingertip picks where classical guitarists will use fingernails. They're both a chordophone and have fairly similar playing techniques. The plucking most associate with banjo music is also heard when plucking bluegrass style guitar - for example.
But, if you want something well-written and by someone who's much better at playing banjo, I'll see what I can do.
I know just the person to ask! ;-)
The playing differences.
I have zero musical training and can't read sheet music or chords, but that didn't stop countless American frontiersmen from taking up the banjo and making our own cultural heritage in folk music.
That's best written by someone who isn't me.
I'll ask and see if I can get a hand with it. If I can't, you're gonna be stuck with me. Hopefully, that's not what happens 'cause I'm not a banjo player. I have a banjo player in the band but he's pretty new to it and still pretty young. I'll try to get better input and see what happens.
No promises - but I'll try to get something like that out for you within the next week or so.
I have zero formal banjo training. Otherwise, I'd pipe up and answer - but I'd rather not give wrong answers.
Cool I appreciate it
