There is a round disc on the guitar. That has to have an effect on the sound. Let me know what he says.

The round disk is a vinyl record. :)

Given that it is electric it probably does not change the sound very much - unless you're playing really loud, really close to the amp. Most unique aspects of the guitar are decorative.

Oh, a picture disk. Haven't seen one of them in 20 years. My friend in the navy was a beatles fan and he had a record "Mint" that had them all posing in bullfighter gear on the record itself. Those are hard to find also unless you order them special you're likely no just to come across one in a music store.

Stylistically, it is French... which is probably what you are picking up on. They are generally well put together, though.
