Chicago Sun-Times reporter, columnist, and editorial board member, Neil Steinberg doesn’t like gun owners and he’s really crude. One time he wrote, “Guns are a kind of masturbatory aid of millions of Americans who imagine themselves supermen.”

Steinberg claimed that it’s super easy to buy a gun like the AR-15 and went to Maxon’s shooters in Des Plaines, Illinois.

The woke liberal reporter chose a Smith & Wesson Model M&P15 Sport which is an AR-15-styled semi-automatic weapon and a 30-round magazine.

However, when it was time to complete the sale the gun store refused to sell him the rifle.

According to the clerk, Steinberg yelled, “you sell to terrorists, you sell to insane people, but you won’t sell to a reporter?”

The clerk informed him that his background check revealed a “history of alcohol abuse and domestic violence.”

The clerk informed him that his background check revealed a “history of alcohol abuse and domestic violence.”

Buh? Does the background check FFLs use actually give details about why a check was refused? Was this dealer performing additional background checks? Something doesn't smell right here.

The charges were dismissed after Steinberg completed alcohol treatment and that was how he was able to obtain a Firearms card in Illinois.

Seeing that Steinberg had a history of alcohol and domestic violence the gun store decided not to sell the rifle to the reporter.

Yes, it appears that the gun shop owner is exercising additional diligence in his background checks. Proving that the people who typically do illegal things with guns often obtained them illegally, because the firearms industry in America is quite careful to try not to sell to criminals and nut jobs.

Based FFL

Possibly even more based than initially thought. It could be that he saw Steinberg and just used the record as an excuse. One can hope.

Nics only tells the dealer approve deny or delay they don't give details. If the guy did check yes on the addicted question or the domestic violence question and the guy at the store reviewed the 4473 before calling Nics he would then possibly deny the sale.

Maybe the gun store owner has read one of this media whore’s bullshit articles and assumed his shop was the target of a media hit job when this dipshit filled out the paperwork and made his name known.

Then runs background check and exclaims “checkmate”. Proceeds not to sell weapon to obviously unhinged liberal fuckhead.

Liberal fuckhead gets upset because the system worked, not only proving his hypothesis to be bullshit, but as an added insult to injury, also inherently classified him as one of the very people who he claims to hate: a nut job who has no business owning a firearm.
