The "you don't have to participate" excuse for government overreach is so tired. If I'm taking a bus or train to work it's because I don't have any meaningful choices. Wasn't so long ago they also said that you didn't have to participate in gainful employment if you didn't want an experimental medical treatment.
How about this: if anyone doesn't like that I can carry a firearm on the train, "they" can choose not to participate. Seems a bit more reasonable to me.
This is why public transportation should be destroyed. Every government service, Will be turned into a tool to take your freedoms and make you dependent on the government and give the gov more levers to control you.
