IF the vitamin D is sourced from something that is bioavailable and IF the dosage is something decent, in excess of 10,000 IUs, or even more than 50,000 is the subject is chronically deficient in vitamin D.

I think the vast majority of the US population are Chronically Vitamin D deficient.

Above a certain latitude it's impossible to get enough Vitamin D from the sun. Add in cloudy weather and such, you pretty much have to take a supplement or have a very good diet.

Get sun, drink filtered water, eat eggs, drink milk, lift heavy things through multiple planes of motion at varied tempos, eat more steak, shower, get sleep. Rinse. Repeat.
