Whether the Gods litterally exist or not is irrelevant. What is relevant is that we have a Cultural-Epic which unites our own people as heroes and isn't (((Someone else's))) Cultural-Epic.

If you are going to hail Odin, then go all in. Saying whether the gods exist is irrelevent reminds me of "christians" that believe Jesus was a good man, good teacher, taught love and peace, etc., but do not believe he is God in the flesh, rose from the dead and so on. If God exists, he is to be worshipped. No half measures.
