I don't understand, what's the reasoning behind smuggling "Jewish" Abyssinians out of Ethiopia to Israel. Simply being Jewish doesn't strike me as being sufficient. There was clearly something Israel's government stood to gain with an influx of third world dependents, but I'm not entirely clear on what that could've been.
