And because this emperor believed in the true faith, because his stateship as body was wedded to the Church as soul, he actually listened to this courageous bishop and corrected his ways, instead of just using his power to kill the bishop and force his way into the Church. This is the Christ-derived power of the priesthood and the Church itself, and Christ's intention for how the Church was meant to function in relation to the necessary bodies politic within the world.
