Patton like Montgomery where field generals. Like Rommel. They weren’t that important and where easily replaced. The US, Britain, Canada, Australia, and Germany had plenty of competent generals who could step up and take up the mantle of leadership. The only country that could not do that was communist Russia. FDR and Churchill allying with Communist Russia is unforgivable.
