Not sure what to think of this; the image is harsh, the expressions in the food lines are somewhat off, the staring child looks legit; but I wasn't there…

Considering my Polish parents and being raised in Germany, I am thoroughly conflicted.

The idea that it could be propaganda just makes me sick if it means I undermine the Polish victims; my great grandmother (not her husband) wasn't happy about her daughter moving to Germany for instance; she also said the Soviets absolutely did rape some of her acquaintances, it just makes me not want to think about the war anymore.

This is really interesting footage. Air warfare apologists often point to Germany starting the air war by bombing Warsaw, but that's not true. Poland had as its main fallback strategy to fight in fortified Warsaw under the hope that they could repeat the victory against the Soviets in the 1920s. But once a city is fortified and holding soldiers that are actively fighting, it's not bombing a city, but fighting a battle; it was fully allowed by the Geneva conventions. All of it was carried out with tactical bombers, designed to support an army in the field. By contrast, the allied air campaign was carried out against unfortified civilian-only cities (in many countries, not just Germany), by strategic bombers designed for the purpose, to explicitly attack civilian houses, all of which was against the Geneva convention.

The civilians digging fortifications are hard to distinguish from the civilians digging potatoes, and the houses holding troops are impossible to distinguish from those holding only families. This is why you're not supposed to fight in a city, and why you're supposed to have a distinction between combatants and noncombatants. Guerilla war has the exact same pitfalls, which is why it always leads to war crimes.

Reasonable statements, civilian tragedies are inevitable during war on this many fronts…

THAT Jew propaganda video clip OMITS mentioning Russia invaded at nearly the same time!

Russians invaded and took half of Poland, not just Germany!

On 17 September 1939, the Soviet Union invaded Poland from the east, sixteen days after Germany invaded Poland from the west. Subsequent military operations lasted for the following 20 days and ended on 6 October 1939 with the two-way division and annexation of the entire territory of the Second Polish Republic by Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union.

The fucking jew media brainwashed entire USA generations to forget that RUSSIA invaded poland!

I thought this was common knowledge? Molotov-Ribbentrop.

I always look forward to your comments (also Blood-Is-Nature's) There isn't a worse battlefield for civilians, are there other examples of modern warfare in "first world" countries that had a third party's country's capital city as a battleground?

But yeah, the movie it's from apparently got an Oscar nomination, so…
