Mirage effect of the light bouncing off the water will "correct" for the curvature of the earth. Preform the same very tests over very cold water and the effects that you are referencing are much less.

I personally think that your crowd has taken this shit way too far. The hollow earth sounds more sane than a flat earth.

Odd that the lensing of water vapor in atmosphere would perfectly line up to theoretical curvature as a counterbalance over miles of distance. Has the cold water idea been done empirically, or is it just theoretical?

Ball Earther, but I like the FE guys. Especially since the IFLScience crowd seems incapable of charity and is demonstrably dishonest.

Why do you, personally from direct observation, think you're on a spheroid?
