"Waiting in long lines at schools and clinics, more than 40 million Americans -- almost 25% of the population -- received the swine flu vaccine before the program was halted in December after 10 weeks. More than 500 people are thought to have developed Guillain-Barre syndrome after receiving the vaccine; 25 died. No one completely understands the causes of Guillain-Barre, but the condition can develop after a bout with infection or following surgery or vaccination. The federal government paid millions in damages to people or their families."

90s had a ton of good shit. Yeah alice in chains, soundgarden, etc etc, the whole grunge scene (i grew up in seattle and did go to a lot of shows when i wasnt really old enough) but a lot of killer stuff that never got quite the recognition the big famous grunge era bands did. Like meat puppets and crash test dummies, lot of good music in the 90s. After that though, mostly shit. The most recent band i can think of that was really, legitimately good was mini mansions. Their first album was fucking killer. Their second was pretty good. Their latest was a big disappointment. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4-KJcUkENmY
