I thought everyone knew that? Us went to war with japan and invaded Germany when the war was won so that they could take a slice of Germany. Good thing i suppose considering what the (((soviet))) pigs did but america should have allied with Germany.

I remember reading that Patton said he could have taken Berlin weeks before the Russians, but wasn't allowed. It was part of what convinced him that America and the USSR were not actually the good guys.

And then of course he died and was immediately cremated. Total accident......

Do people actually say this now? I have never heard this from anyone. Japan declared war on the USA due to embargoes and other international issues and attacked the USA completely independently of Germany. That's when the USA declared war on Germany as well.

I have no idea what the truth is, but I always heard and read that Hitler was the first to actually officially DECLARE in the legal sense. Up until that time the US was simply waging an illegal war and violating all the "neutral" agreements they were party to.

It's kind of a technical difference. The US was the aggressor, but my understanding was that Germany actually made it a legal declaration once their Ally Japan was involved.

I agree entirely. It's actually a pretty good metaphor. My understanding was exactly what you described: the US kept punching Germany until they finally said "okay, let's settle this" and then the US said "oh no evil Germany is aggressively attacking us!"

I think modern media and historians use that "fact" to twist the truth. In reality it proves the opposite - Germany was actually a lawful country that respected the Rule of Law. They weren't willing to debase themselves to respond in kind to US aggression without an official declaration.

Germany did NOT declare war on ANYBODY first. There's no technical difference. There's no semantics. This isn't a pedantic point. Germany was invaded first due to the (((Treaty Of Versailles))). Full-fucking-stop.

You are 100% correct. I was just pointing out the "fact" they use to sell their lie. I just said the same thing to someone else, but realistically it just proves the German government at the time actually respected the Laws of Germany, whereas the American government consistently violated its own Constitution and Laws.
