I have no idea what the truth is, but I always heard and read that Hitler was the first to actually officially DECLARE in the legal sense. Up until that time the US was simply waging an illegal war and violating all the "neutral" agreements they were party to.
It's kind of a technical difference. The US was the aggressor, but my understanding was that Germany actually made it a legal declaration once their Ally Japan was involved.

Germany did NOT declare war on ANYBODY first. There's no technical difference. There's no semantics. This isn't a pedantic point. Germany was invaded first due to the (((Treaty Of Versailles))). Full-fucking-stop.
You are 100% correct. I was just pointing out the "fact" they use to sell their lie. I just said the same thing to someone else, but realistically it just proves the German government at the time actually respected the Laws of Germany, whereas the American government consistently violated its own Constitution and Laws.
