Consider pearl Harbour. Every ship from destroyer to BB was old and obsolete. It wasnt just the carriers kept away that day but new build cruisers. A BB just radomnly decided to open all bulkheads to facilitate flooding. Oh look it flooded and sank. And the tradeoff for the attack? Please sir. We just want war with Germany. So attack us when the ships won't gave crews to cut down deaths. Oh and just take the old ships. Not the harbor itself and definately not the infrastructure.
