some private capitalists investing in german manufacturing is not the same as the US govt sending supply ships filled with planes and tanks and other war machines. the US never 'supplied' the germans and to suggest they played 'both sides' shows a complete lack of knowledge of the war. they very very clearly allied themselves with one side and went to war with the other. and the nazis very clearly bombed all US merchant shipping, those ships weren't coming to ever give so much as an apple to germany.
