Basically all people were invading and pillaging and enslaving to the best of their ability. Just because some peoples weren't good at it or capable of using boats, doesn't make them any better or worse than other groups. Now the peculiar thing is white people who decided to end slavery in their own countries as well as in other countries. No other people in the world would have done that.
