Strangely enough, Whoopi was correct in what she said -- the "Holocaust" (speaking about it as an actual series of real events) was not about race. The German people were concerned about preserving the health of their culture and their nation, and they saw Jews as a destructive element, which they were. Jews worked against the German people, exploiting them. Jews ran the pornography business, the abortion business, the drug trade. If Hitler had been able to induce all German Jews to migrate to other countries, Germany would undoubtedly have been the better for it. It was never about race, it was about expelling a cancer.
