I started with Linux back in 97 when my mom bought me a book with a Linux floppy in the back and I had a windows machine that I couldn't get the sound card functioning on. Never looked back.
I have a windows VM for some software that will not run in linux that I need and for gaming if it doesn't run on my steam deck.
97? what were you running then, slackware?
Yep. Stuck with Slack for a loooong time. Eventually settled on Arch when Slack wasn't getting frequent enough updates for me to run what I needed to. I tried Gentoo in between but that was brutal on some of my ancient hardware.
Trying now to install slackware15 on virtualbox but can't get it to do anything so more reading up on vbox. My favorite now is Manjaro xfce and it runs smoothly all the time.
