This is on my list of hardware to buy in the future. I wonder how well it will work with my setup.

My HomeAssistant is in a VM (which is no longer supported I guess) and I have a different system that is on 24/7 that serves my USB devices to it so if I migrate my VM to another host that my homeassistant stays online and does not lose it's USB devices.

Sometimes I wonder if I should just buy the custom hardware they build for HASS but I like being able to have full control over the hardware/os/availability/etc.

I bought a Green unit, it seems to work well enough as long as you realize it's limitations.

If you go that route, make sure your router has the correct time, and can provide the time. The install process is very fragile if not.

I stream in a lot of data. Enough that a RPi was no longer enough to handle the load. It's part of why it's a VM. Yeah, that is probably a uncommon configuration but I want to do what I want to do.

That’s a lot of data for a HA system.
