We inherited Reagan's trickle down economy, watched Bush I go back on his promise to keep social security from being a government piggy bank, then had to watch the whole thing crumble to the ground in 08 and 09. And then all over again in 20.
We watched how easily the news will start covering an attack on some brown people that was clearly a distraction from the story of the president getting a blowjob from a fat chick.
We watched our elections go from "full audit with every hanging chad being closely scrutinized to ensure every vote matters" to "counting votes is racist."
We've seen a string of laughing-stock presidents ruin this country, and are watching the boomers spend the last of the pile of retirement money that our generation has worked our asses off to try and rebuild.
We were brought up being told to treat blacks like their skin color doesn't matter, that ebonics was a rich cultural language full of history and tradition, and that they will flourish if given a chance. 'Equality' meant equal opportunity, and all it takes is hard work. Yeah, we believed it.
We watched the internet become a cesspool of the worst of humanity, with people excited to have it pumped into their consciousness around the clock.
We've tried to get the system back up and running, but all of our hard work is quickly made pointless when trillions of dollars can be created and spent by "our" government with no effort at all, with no thought of the diminishing value of those dollars.
We inherited a shit economy, and we're being left a shit future by the former vice president's greed.
You don't have to say "Fuck Gen X."
We're already fucked.
