Parking your RV under a roof will add years of serviceable life to it. No sun damage, no water sitting on top of it, etc.
Have you never heard of raising the debt ceiling?
You win. Thread over.
I was just researching that subject today. It's really a good idea if you have a permanent or semi permanent place to park your rig. The sun, as you know, can raise hell on rubber and the roof material on most modern RV's today are rubberized. The protection a secondary roof can provide will extend life to your RV roof. It will also provide extra protection against rain. It will also provide shade if you are in an open area. RVs heat up really quick and sometimes even 2 AC's will have a hard time keeping your space cool. Arizona or even Florida during the summer can be unbearable in an RV. The extra shade can be a huge benefit.
I would assume it decreases rain noise as well.
Add snow loads in the north. It can be a ball buster cleaning the snow of the RV roof a couple of times a week, on top of snow blowing a driveway and shoveling. A heavy snow load can sag a roof, open up waterproof seams, blow out some rivets.
But it's a double roof. More is betterer.
