Not happy about it but if it means 1M-5M *necessary* migrant farm workers who have been here for years and don't break our laws (except entering illegally) stay and the other 50M+ go, I could probably live with that compromise. Could be art of the deal shit in order to get something else. I'll have to see the final legislation before making a final judgement and/or know what the deal entailed, if there was a deal.. And I don't want to see any other industries (like restaurants) try to get similar special treatment. We just opened up ethanol exports to a Europe and a number of other countries, this would be the perfect time to end ethanol in our own gas and export what we would have consumed without disrupting the farmers growing corn to make that ethanol. I would love to see it happen but not holding my breath. Unfortunately if we continue using it, farmers will need to devote even more prime acreage to corn for ethanol production to ship around the world instead of growing edible food.
