It's not really belief, it's directly observing people not doing anything they say they're doing.

For example, watched a maintenance person walk up to a device, put a sticker on it that said he calibrated it, write down on the master report that it was calibrated, and watched as he walked away not doing anything to the device.

That got someone fired.

Fair enough. I had my boat impeller go out yesterday, when we pulled it apart it was obvious it hadn't been changed in 5 + years in spite of me changing, or paying to have it changed, every year.

I can believe it. Why do it when you can just tell someone you did it. Laziness and incompetence.
