Is it me? Or are people happy paying for bandwidth they don't and can't actually use? The best I can figure is having 1Gbps internet is virtue signaling today. Google is upping the bar with 20Gbps, apparently. Unless you have a cloud business with hundreds of servers, having that kind of bandwidth is a complete waste. Streaming a 4K video only requires about 32Mbps. So even if you're Streaming on 2 monitors, you're still less than 100Mbps. Personally, I use well under 10Mbps of bandwidth at the most. Then you also require all the switches between the server and your computer to have that kind of bandwidth. Crazy shit!

Yes, 5G is really good at locating cell phones, it turns out. Who knew. And, sure, that bandwidth will come in very handy for sending real-time images from all the Ring/video doorbells out there. Then all those Star links will be handy for those people trying to hide in the wilderness.

I hadn't really thought of this. I assumed they were mostly for project bluebeam. I suppose they could be multiuse
