Prior to the printing press the jews were limited to controlling two of the three traditional mass media outlets: the Government (via court jews) and the Church (via corruption of church officials). They were never able to get control of the other, and first, mass media outlet: the people themselves (i.e. word of mouth).
With the invention of the printing press they were able to gain a third mass media outlet that gave them direct control of the message, they no longer had to go through an intermediary like the king, or your priest, but book and periodical publishing was only partly successful, because most people couldn't read. As a side note, this is the real reason for the drive for universal literacy, because it gives jews direct access to shaping the mind of everyone who reads.
The 19th century gave the jews a slew of new media technologies with which to gain control over public opinion: the camera, the film projector, the phonograph, broadcasting technology, among other things. These culminated in the ultimate mind control device: the Television, which by the early 21st century could be found in every room of every house.
Today, of course, we have the Internet, which acts as a form of democratization, giving White men a chance to speak the truth to jewish Power, which is why they do everything in their power to reduce it's reach. Hence the invention of Web 2.0 and social media outlets which work to create walled gardens that jews once again control.
