Christmas came early, let me settle down with a hot cup of coffee and a cookie to enjoy. Edit: Am disappoint, was hoping for more carnage.

There are a few carnage videos out there but I found they are also disappointing.

I.enjoyed this video from an iron dome analysis perspective. Trump wants to create an iron superdome for America. Lasers and missiles, plus Space Force. This video helps me to better visualize what that future defense may look like.

It looks like if most of the missiles went through the defence but caused only minor damage - small missiles. Maybe the decoys and course changes in the final phase of the Iranian missiles work as expected, or the air defence saves the ammo for the bigger missiles - that will come when the Iranians think that the Israeli air defence is depleted.

Did you see that many of the incoming rockets glow intensely then kind of blow apart? I think the glow is when they are hit by laser ... looks like it takes about 2 seconds of laser to take them down.

Supposedly our ships were also targeting Iranian missiles to defend Israel, I wonder if we were using laser too? I know Israel incorporated laser with their Patriot missile defense system and called it "iron dome".

Many nations test laser systems on the battlefield already, but these are not made for long distances yet (going through miles of atmosphere requires a lot of energy).

The flaming thingies are the decoys that burn the remaining fuel to create the heat signature the air defence missiles are searching for.

The Iron Dome is an Israeli system against low flying targets like rockets and drones. All other air defence is from Raytheon and Boeing and rebranded to sound Israeli. They fare not better in Israel than in Ukraine, get hit by the ballistic missiles they should protect against and so. Their main weakness is the low production rate: they were made to sell them for a very high price, not for mass production.
