All of the sudden Trump and Bondi and Patel's recent behavior would make a lot of sense; They are all relatively intelligent people, they must know that they aren't fooling anyone with the Epstein files, but they seem to be signaling as strongly as they possibly can they won't engage in any sort meaningful investigation that would inevitably tie Epstein to Mossad. In some of their interviews, Kash Patel and Dan Bongino look downright terrified.
Israel is not in a great place right now; they have lost a tremendous amount of support, and I think they were quite surprised with how hard Iran was able to hit Tel-Aviv, among other targets, in the recent '12 Day War'. Enemies are on all sides, and even normies are waking up to their barbarism.
Creating a genetically engineered plague is clearly within their capabilities; would they be willing to threaten to use it if they don't get their way?
