Okay ya filthy animals. Welcome to our newly opened beach front, think of it as Pelilu.

We will be facilitating movement between here and Reddit (as well as Saidit for now).

The sub's rules can be found below:

They are incomplete, ad hoc, and basically interpreted by me alone as a dictator until I can establish a proper, well defined, rule-set. They are similar to Reddit's, but loser. As if it were last year. Expect them to change.

Do report site violating content as people will undoubtedly try to fuck this sub up, as well as troll you. Remember, we have a Chapo Trap House mod as a regular back on Reddit.

Go have fun with the other users. Don't forget to swing by /s/Introductions , and check out the welcome page: https://poal.co/welcome

And, get off the fucking beach.

Rules:

ONE:

  • Do not post Illegal Activity. Also, do not post any manifesto's done by terrorists, active shooters, serial felons rationalizing such things, or promoting such things, even if your content does not endorse the message.

TWO:

  • Do not engage in speech that promotes, advocates, glorifies, or endorses violence. This is a sitewide regulation.

THREE:

  • Do not threaten, harass, or bully users; and do not encourage others to do so on or off-line; nor make per se defamatory states at users.

FOUR:

  • Do not post ISM. Involuntary Salacious Material means NSFW material of a manner that was not intentionally made public. This is the "upskirt", "revenge porn", and "private intimate photos" rule.

FIVE:

  • Do not post Porn, this is a sitewide regulation.

SIX:

  • Content that contains nudity, pornography, or profanity, which a reasonable viewer may not want to be seen accessing in a public or formal setting such as in a workplace should be tagged as NSFW. Any material of a titillating nature must be marked NSFW.

SEVEN:

  • Do not post Facebook accounts, individuals who's twitters are less than 2,500 followers, private/personal information that is not publicly available, addresses, or participate, encourage, or engage in any doxxing campaign.

EIGHT:

  • Do not intentionally deceive others by impersonating another. This does not apply to satire.

NINE:

  • No person shall use Poal to solicit, facilitate any transaction, or gift including:
  • ATF defined firearms or ammo as defined by the ATF, Bump-stock type devices, Explosives, 3D printing files to produce the aforementioned, controlled substances, Drugs, Alcohol, Tobacco, Stolen goods, Paid services involving physical sexual contact, Personal Information, Falsified Official Documents, Falsified Currency, Fraudulent Services, Pharmaceuticals

TEN:

  • No vote manipulation. Do not break Poal's features.

ELEVEN:

  • Do not post spam. If you are self-advertising, you must have sufficiently engaged in the sub prior to your post, and you must engage with the users when they comment in your post.
  • Spam will also include repeated messages and comments that are done with no effort to add to the conversation.

TWELVE:

  • Do not post intentional falsehoods or hoaxes. Yes, the Elders of Zion and other such intentionally fabricated documents fall into this. If your POST is arguably false by the user-base, it may be marked as either misleading or unfounded based on it's factual assertions, particularly in the title.

THIRTEEN:

  • If you have reposted something, it will be removed

FOURTEEN:

  • Do not post more than 5 posts a day to this sub.

FIFTEEN:

  • Do not direct particularly egregious identity based slurs at users. A list will be provided

SIXTEEN:

  • Do not attack entire identity groups as inferior, subhuman, inherently morally deficient, biologically/evolutionarily mongrel, or participating in a vast conspiracy to take over the world, ala ZOG-NWO / The Patriarchy.

Hey look a new place to shitpost.

Do not post intentional falsehoods or hoaxes. Yes, the Elders of Zion and other such intentionally fabricated documents fall into this. If your POST is arguably false by the user-base, it may be marked as either misleading or unfounded based on it's factual assertions, particularly in the title.

This is a bad rule.

You can believe whatever you want about the Elders of Zion book, it doesn't really matter.

The problem is that today we have the media pushing all sorts of hoaxes or labeling real stuff as hoaxes. This is almost impossible to justify from an administrative position for or against without dumping walls of text.

Pls remove.

Do not attack entire identity groups as inferior, subhuman, inherently morally deficient, biologically/evolutionarily mongrel, or participating in a vast conspiracy to take over the world, ala ZOG-NWO / The Patriarchy.

Kinda similar here.

What if I want to accuse the Chinese of running global espionage rings to steal information and control industries?

Further, what if I want to argue that trannys are mentally ill?

Those are both good topics and should be discussed. Putting up a rule that would be used to stop that discussion is a bad idea.

It's fine to have something like, "Don't pointlessly attack ethnic groups. Saying stuff like "niggers are dumb." accomplishes nothing and doesn't lead to good discussion."

We shall see. The rules aren't permanent as they are.

[–] 0 pt

To put it another way your post here would be illegal under both of those.

[–] 0 pt

I don't see how I could see it that way.

[–] -1 pt

Do not post intentional falsehoods or hoaxes. Yes, the Elders of Zion and other such intentionally fabricated documents fall into this.

So no posts about holocaust, no human-caused climate change, no female equality...

[–] 3 pts

And, get off the fucking beach.

But it's so peaceful (youtu.be)

[–] 3 pts

That rule 14 is seriously going to cramp the style of some of the subreddit's most active shitposters contributors.

I'm looking forward to seeing where this experiment goes.

[–] 1 pt

It's been a mostly-official rule on the main sub for a while now, specifically because there were a few users who absolutely blew through that limit every single day, upwards of ten threads a day at times from a single user.

[–] 1 pt

But since the internet runs on the 90:10 rule, wouldn't it be bad to limit your most common posters. I've seen a lot of migrations fail at keeping up steam from not having enough content posted. Hindering posting is probably not what you guys want to do at this stage.

Think of everything in terms of comparative risk. The risk of things feeling dead at first, HIGH, the risk of people being slightly annoyed by someone posting a lot, LOW. The consequence associated with each risk is also significantly different.

I would cut that rule for now because nothing really bad will happen if you cut it. But KotakuInAction has a real chance of being dead otherwise.

[–] 0 pt

I instituted it because people were angry about the amount of one person posts on kia2

[–] 1 pt

If it's who I think that's about, it's because their submissions are extremely low effort, either cross-posting/reposting other users popular submissions from other subs, or downright crap OC. Then afterwards hardly engaging in those submissions. It's karma farming through the shotgun approach.

Reporting in as requested.

I dunno, it's a lot better than reddit, but that's still a bunch of pretty invasive rules.

[–] 1 pt

They're transitional rules. Just to keep some ease of transition between one place and another.

[–] 2 pts

So, gotta ask:

The rules are effectively like Reddit, but more like last year. Yes you can say the dreaded T word, and refer to the Verboten One's name.

T word? Verboten One?

[–] 3 pts

The T-word is "tranny", the Verboten One is Eric Ciaramella.

[–] 2 pts (edited )

OPs talking about transfags.

[–] 0 pt (edited )

Tranny and Eric Ciaramella

They are both basically banned on Reddit

[–] 2 pts

Ciaramella

Thinking about that, it's probably possible to rewrite the theme song of my namesake to use that name instead.

Of course the answer would be "Who?" followed shortly by a preemptive condolence from Hillary then an accident involving a rabid wolverine in the oval office.

u/PMYB2 This is your notice of incoming users.

[–] 1 pt

Noted. Thanks for the heads up.

[–] 2 pts

No manifestos? No identity based slurs? Where's the fun in that?

[–] 0 pt

The rules are subject to change
