The New York Times, home of the 'anonymous source', has refused to use the pseudonym 'Scott Alexander", causing the author to shutter his blog.

The Times has, in the past, used pseudonyms for anyone and everyone who asks for one, unless they are viewed as being opposed to the goals of the revolution.

Alexander is, by anyone's standards but the Times, a leftist. He spoke out against the Left too frequently for their tastes, and too infrequently to earn the loyalty of anyone else.

Most of the blog is archived, but there won't be anything new coming out unless he changes his mind.

______________________________________________ Resubmitted, because I accidentally replaced the article with a picture of my 'HILLARY FOR PRISON' captcha last time.

The New York Times, home of the 'anonymous source',

One of Jayson Blair's favorites, as I recall.

Don't believe a word from this 'reporter'. The fear that this was to be a bait-and-switch hit-piece is dead on. "Oh my editor said I have to publish your name shrug" is an obviously two-faced statement and not worth granting any sympathy to.

"At this point it's clear that a lot of people regard the press as dangerously irresponsible with regard to the effects of what it writes on others."

I think it's clear that at this point a lot of people regard the press far more dimly than that. "Dangerously irresponsible" doesn't begin to cover it.

They will try to silence you anyway possible. The only way they can get away with it is to let them. This man was a coward.
