While "Thor: Love and Thunder" topped the domestic box office this weekend, its global numbers are missing a key market: China. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the nation continues its recent trend of leaving Marvel films in limbo and off its release schedule. While other Phase Four Marvel films have been held back for various reasons, sources at two cinema chains in China told THR the cause in this case is pretty clear: "Thor: Love and Thunder" includes queer representation that has led to it being denied censorship approval.

For years now, China and other global markets have been at odds with Hollywood over even the most minuscule hints of LGBTQ+ representation on screen. Just this year, Warner Bros. provided China with a different cut of the latest "Fantastic Beasts" film, one that cut brief references to wizard Dumbledore's past relationship with Grindelwald.

hollywood, glowingly praising that movie by saying,

they've inverted gay being an insult in their world, but it still works just as well in mine as far as getting me to avoid seeing it. not that i'd be watching that super hero faggotry even if it wasn't overtly gay.

I couldn’t watch half that interview with Natalie Portman. Just disgusting. Just watched Dr Strange 2, and same thing. Whiny superbitch wants her imaginary kids, kills hundreds to get her way, meanwhile some dyke offspring of 2 dykes is somehow smarter or more clever as Dr. Strange? Glad I didn’t go to the movies to see these shitty movies.

We can’t have normal white couples with white, normal kids. Everything is dumb white guy with brave, smart black woman. Ok, real science. Their kid has leukemia, who is the donor? Neither parent. It would need to be another bi-racial donor. Good luck finding a match! Genetically, parents aren’t close enough to donate. The more you know!
