Mens rea. If she truly thought what she was found was right, she would not be adamant that the evidence be destroyed. She knows it's wrong. So, why is she doing it then? Perhaps she is a narcissistic psychopath and gets off on the power trip. She knows it's wrong, but doesn't care. That's about the only thing I can think of that would explains this behaviour.
