And systemd is still shit and a pain in the ass to navigate. I had hoped that it would get better with incremental improvements, but it just got worse over time. The thing is that every program still has it's own startup script in addition to a pile of complex systemd shit... what has been gained?
People say that it allows dependency driven startup and shutdown of programs, but It doesn't take the enormous infrastructure that is systemd to do that. What a fucking joke.
I have read so many systemd man pages and never accomplish what I set out to do and then give up dissatisfied.
That man runs my computer, evidently.
Poettering is an abject piece of shit that has done more damage to the Linux community than any human who has ever lived. Every line of code he ever wrote needs to be purged and anyone who advocated for his abomination should have their keys revoked.
The need to get away from systemd/pulse drove me to Gentoo.
