I use Debian. Why not use the one that works and is the root distro of the rest.
I like MX since it's got a gui for everything except autoremove. I used debian a few months ago and formatted and put Garuda in it's place which for me runs much faster.
MX does have a strong GUI. I put webmin on my Debian instances for pretty much the same thing. Plus being Perl based I can easily build modules if need ****be.
Had to look up webmin since the only time I did a server was porn images on windows 98 with an apache beta, I had guys on irq giving me tips and ended up serving on a crappy pc that I then realized "20/20 hindsight" I couldn't use the internet with other downloading so that ended quick. I also realized your hard drive can heat up real fast and got hot enough to almost burn my fingers. Cooling was side off the tower and a box fan on high blowing in. It was fine I chain smoked then so it was used to being dirty.
