Yeah. Not even 10 years ago, most tech people (at least appeared) to be politically neutral or never discussed their views. The goal was get the project out the door.

All statements like "gnome is antifa" is going to do is people are going to stop using it and shrink the install base.

Gnome has always been inferior. "One more reason why it sucks" does not change that it sucks.

But yes, as a long time professional in the industry I regret to see how it has changed. It used to be the common ground where smart people could meet for the betterment of software. You always knew people held varying beliefs but were professional enough to keep topics not relevant to the merit of project out of the project.

Fuck these childish punks who ruin the sector for everyone. At this rate you'll see "warring API's" which exist not for oversight of practical matters but rather differing ideological stances of the developers.

Like that jackass that maintains Notepad++ or what happened in Node.js. Sentence the lot of them to 10 years of MFC development with a mixed set of DLLs.

Gnome as a de is shit, and only weird snowflakes use it. But the bigger issue is that gnome tech is used in a number of side projects. Anything that isn't KDE at this point will use it in some way shape or form. So it's very hard to get away from the project. Even KDE will borrow some applets from the gnome project

I'm going to use bad words, gnome is windows 8 gay step son on steroids. KDE is the flaming queen of Linux DE's that why it's so fucked up aka buggy, xfce is the only great DE since it doesn't use GAYLAND but X only.

Don't get me started on Enlightenment, calculator like and app opened is like hitting clear on a calculator or windows 3.1 wfw only one app open at a time, DOS was my fun on that only.
