I don't see the value in Wayland, but I am not dedicating time to migrate my computer to X. I tried adding X but this article tells me what I did not figure out - that the GDM display manager is probably the issue. I guess that a Wayland display manager does not hand off nicely to X. i find it predictable that the "alternative" has undone so many of the things that made it there alternative to begin with. I miss window manager options very much and find gnome - Wayland to be under configurable. I am stuck with nuisances that are not easy to resolve. Productivity was amazing when you could configure your window manager for your work flow.
